After opening their first iteration of an “urban style” store in Toronto, H Mart, the largest Asian supermarket chain in the United States, will be opening a new branch called M2M Mart in Capitol Hill. It is set to open its doors this coming Friday, April 15 after all the delays and anticipation. On a Facebook post, Todd Jordan, a Capitol Hill local, expressed his excitement saying, “it’ll be great when it finally opens,” and this new Korean-American supermarket is finally ready to welcome everyone to their store.
However, this store will not be the same as the other H Marts around the city. Its new name, M2M Mart, stands for “morning to midnight.” This store will have an “urban convenience format”, much like their other sleek, fancy store, District H, located across Whole Foods in South Lake Union.
With the new store opening up soon, residents can conveniently shop for more specific Asian grocery items, particularly Korean cuisine. But because of its distinct format, the new store may have different options for meats, produce, and groceries compared to the regular H Mart.
So far, the store will be open from 8 AM to 9:30 PM every day. Updates about the changes, what’s inside, and what to check out will be followed soon!
